We had a great bible study last night! So good, that when we reached our stopping point, the youth wanted to continue on with the next section. So continue we did! (Sorry for the bad Yoda impersonation) :)
We are continuing our lesson on Renewing our relationship with God. This week, we looked at Mind, Body and Spirit.
We read from:
Proverbs 3:
13 Joyful is the person who finds wisdom,
the one who gains understanding.
14 For wisdom is more profitable than silver,
and her wages are better than gold.
15 Wisdom is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.
16 She offers you long life in her right hand,
and riches and honor in her left.
17 She will guide you down delightful paths;
all her ways are satisfying.
1 Corinthians 6:
19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 10:
31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Romans 12:
1 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Romans 12:
2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Luke 21:
14 So don’t worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, 15 for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you! 16 Even those closest to you—your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends—will betray you. They will even kill some of you. 17 And everyone will hate you because you are my followers.[d] 18 But not a hair of your head will perish! 19 By standing firm, you will win your souls.
Something came up about how to get to heaven, good discussion, then we read:
John 14:
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Overall a VERY GOOD STUDY! We then rocked to some Christian Rock, played pool and some foosball.
